At Cowan, we are passionate professionals who are dedicated to doing what’s right for our clients. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Digital the Marketing Content Writer is integral to the management and execution of the Cowan content sales strategy.
What you will do :
The Marketing Content Writer is part of a team responsible for drafting, implementing and measuring coordinated sales content.
Key responsibilities :
- Act as a subject matter expert for business unit stakeholders, providing recommendations on tone, messaging, and deployment channels for campaigns.
- Develop, write, and edit marketing-focused content for lead generation and sales enablement; includes website copy, marketing materials (online, print), advertising copy, and sales collateral.
- Work with leadership and the marcom team to align content to the corporate editorial calendar ensuring that content reflects seasonal industry trends, and corporate growth priorities.
- Work with the digital team to optimize new pages and sections on our web properties.
- Maintain a high level of SEO driven content across Cowan branded websites, landing pages, and microsites, performing periodic audits looking for opportunities to enhance SEO, SERP position and customer value.
- Align all public-facing website content with established best practices for brand and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate mass email deployments and automated campaigns, including landing pages.
- Work with stakeholders to craft content strategies that align to both our corporate and line of business sales strategies.
- Work with sales and operations teams to craft the Cowan sales voice, creating messaging and scripts that focus on generating new business.
- Positively represent Cowan Insurance Group and its brand, mission, vision, and values to all external stakeholders and employees.
What you will bring :
- Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or the Liberal Arts with equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of progressive professional experience in a content marketing or marketing communications role with key responsibilities including content creation and campaign management.
- Experience working with analytics platforms, ad platforms, and CRM tools HubSpot experience preferred.
- Experience in a B2B environment, insurance preferred.
- Self-starter with healthy business curiosity and an intrinsic desire to continually learn and grow.
- Excellent verbal and written skills for engaging a range of audiences - internal, media, prospects, clients, industry partners, etc.
