What we are looking for :
This position is actively involved with our York Region Preschool Speech and Language Program providing a coordinated community based speech and language service for children, birth to school entry.
Main responsibilities will include :
Contacting families for scheduling appointments
Opening electronic client records
Updating client database to support speech language pathology caseload planning
Entering visit statistics and outcome measure data into a Ministry database
Ordering supplies, and maintaining filing systems
General office and clerical duties
Typing and distributing general correspondence
Preparing for weekly team meetings, recording and distributing minutes
Other duties as assigned
What you bring to the role :
Previous reception / clerical experience in a healthcare setting
Experience and knowledge of child development programs and / or experience in an outpatient medical clinic setting
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the team
Experience with entering data into the Healthy Child Development - Integrated Services for Children Information System (HCD-ISCIS) preferred
Strong computer skills in MS Word (Excel experience is preferred) and excellent typing skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work independently
Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
Work Schedule :
The successful candidate must be available to work day (8 : 30am- 4 : 30pm or 9 : 00am -5 : 00pm) with flexibility to cover additional shifts as required.
