We are currently looking to hire 2 "Life Cycle Material Manager Technicians" to join our existing team that is providing life cycle support for Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Tasks will include :
- Monitors repair, modification, and overhaul programs with contractors.
- Monitors and directs delivery of modification kits / parts to implement field modification programs.
- Provides technical input in the preparation of substantiating documentation for SOWs, requests for proposals, statement of capability deficiencies, minor requirements and reviews resulting data for technical acceptability and subsequent action.
- Approves / monitors design change requests, waivers, deviations, etc.
- Provides technical assistance in the review of specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Monitors / reviews UCRs, pre-installation reports, technical inspection reports, and aircraft inspection change proposals.
- Reviews / approves modification instructions, special inspection and special information instructions for publication and distribution.
- Reviews and approves proposed changes to technical orders including description and maintenance instructions, operating instructions, parts lists, and overhaul instructions.
- Provides technical assistance in the identification and screening of applicable and accessory spares and provisioning documents and reviews contract clauses.
- Originates and carries on written technical correspondence between aircraft engineering officers (AEOs), Defence supply chain, units, and contractors.
These include letters, memoranda, minutes of meetings, trip reports etc.
- Participates in AEO visits to field units.
- Advises Client and / or Contractor Staff on system problems and provides technical expertise on resolutions.
- Provides technical expertise to Client and / or Contractor Staff on the selection and development of systems; and
- Provides technical and administrative support to projects, advises operational staff on system problems and technical expertise for problem resolution.
Qualifications
Based on client requirements, employee's / consultants hired into this role must work on-site 5 days per week, at Gatineau office.
There could be some travel within the Ottawa area to other locations as required.
- Will require at least 3 years of DRMIS experience (a Defence Resource Management Information System) This is a DND Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Level 2 security clearance with PSPC.
- Must have proof of College Diploma in Electronics, Computer Technology or a relevant technical field required support LCSS (Land Command Support Systems) or Demonstrated Qualification Level 6B (QL6B / QL6A) in a relevant technical field required to support LCSS and demonstrated minimum substantive rank of Warrant Officer in the Canadian Forces. - 6+ years of demonstrate experience within the last 8 years in a minimum of 6 of these assessment criteria below :
- Experience using a recognized Process framework or using a LCMM Handbook.
- Experience working on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP) for equipment cataloguing.
- Experience working on ERP for maintaining and developing checklists.
- Experience working on ERP for coordinating equipment distribution.
- Evaluating and providing solutions to deficiencies in Technical Failure Reports (TFR) and Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCR)
- Analyzing Statements of Operational Requirements (SOR).
- Reviewing Technical Data Packages (TDP).
- Planning and executing equipment demilitarization and disposal.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience within the last 5 years in the preparation of technical documents including requirements, specification, checklists, bulletins, reports, proposals equipment disposal plans etc.
- Previous experience working in the Air Force as an LCMM will be considered a strong asset.
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience in each of the following assessment criteria :
- Developing briefings notes and presentations to address technical and logistics issues pertaining to equipment.
- Consulting with stakeholders to support the life cycle management of equipment.
- Providing advice, guidance, and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
