EIKON Group is looking for a Director of Technology to lead and manage our Burbank facility. This facility is a state-of-the-art environment with digital cinema and post-production technology including cinema projectors, audio processors, video routing and conversion, multi-PB storage and high-performance workstations.
The ideal candidate will have a background engineering, troubleshooting and supporting these kinds of AV (Audio Visual) and IT technology.
The Director of Technology will act as a key point of contact for other departments to ensure infrastructure, services and support are effective.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring our facility operates at the cutting edge of digital cinema technology.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Support and maintain facility AV and IT technical infrastructure. See Skills for additional detail.
- Lead, train, and support a team of engineers and technicians.
- Delegate task and responsibilities, communicate with internal and external stakeholders and prioritize workloads.
- Manage the Data I / O team alongside the Data I / O Supervisor.
- Collaborate with VP of Technology to develop current workflows and technologies.
- Responsible for ensuring the internal helpdesk support is responsive and effective.
- Research and appraise new technologies and workflows.
- Develop and maintain secure working practices - you will be a key stakeholder in ensuring EIKON's and our client's data is safe and secure.
- Co-ordinate with department leads to ensure facility and services are running reliably.
- Responsible for procurement and relationships with suppliers and technical integrators.
- Represent EIKON at industry events (e.g. HPA, NAB etc.)
- Track and present CAPEX / OPEX requirements to the business.
REQUIRED SKILLS :
- 5+ years working in a post-production or similar environment.
- Ability to problem solve, work calmly under pressure and lead a team.
- Storage administration - preferably with high performance media filesystems such as GPFS (IBM Spectrum Scale) and object-based storage.
- Network configuration and troubleshooting - critically with Firewalls and network switches. Specific experience with Fortinet products such as FortiGate or FortiSwitch highly desirable.
- Knowledge of typical post-production AV technology such as SDI, Dante AoIP, video switchers and convertors.
- Workstation and server support across Windows, macOS and Linux OS.
- Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (Entra).
- Experience archiving data to formats such as LTO or cloud storage such as AWS S3.
- Administration of virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or Nutanix AOS.
- PCoIP (Teradici) remote access technology.
PREFERRED SKILLS :
- Bash / Shell, Python, Powershell, C# scripting knowledge.
- Industry standard transfer technologies (Aspera, Signiant, FileCatalyst, FTP).
- Management of AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC's, Transit Gateways).
- Exposure to centralized management and deployment technologies such as Salt, Puppet, Ansible, Gitlab, PDQDeploy.
- Practical experience with digital cinema / theatrical playback technologies e.g. GDC and Dolby.
- Remediation and development of monitoring solution.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Willing to work under strict non-disclosure agreements.
- Willing to potentially travel to remote sites if necessary for troubleshooting.
- Right to work in the US.
WORKING HOURS :
9 : 00AM-6 : 00PM, however the candidate should be willing to work outside of these hours based on business requirements.
