Responsibilities :
- Providesproject management on large scale complex high profile and highrisk projects for OPS I&ITinitiatives.
- Ensuresproject deliverables meet clients business requirements on timescope and budget with a focus on costeffectiveness efficiencies andcompliance with OPS project management methodologies andframeworks.
- Leadsorganizational development strategy development business planningand Ministry fundingrequests.
- Gathersand develops requirements in order to create and maintain adetailed project schedule and / or integratedplan.
- Abilityto monitor and forecast project costs and provide reporting andinput to ensure targets aremet
- Experiencedeveloping and managing project schedules deliverables andscope
- Abilityto promote I&IT project management best practices andadherence to standardmethodologies
- Demonstratedexperience directing project teams to ensure project deliverablesare delivered on time and adhere to government and ministrystandards
- Extensiveexperience coordinating and monitoring project processes anddeveloping / communicating guidelines andprocedures
- Sourcesselects and onboards team members in various disciplines clarifyroles and responsibilities and set task / deliverable / performanceexpectations for resources that are both OPS unionized employees aswell as fee for service (FFS)consultants.
- Resolvesresourcing and interpersonal conflicts negotiates changes toresourcing ensures knowledge is shared among team members such asproject objectives and deliverables aremet.
- Developscomplex project budgets based on multiple funding channels andcross ministrydependencies.
- Effectivelymanages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscalcontrol and accountability including estimates forecasts andreconciliation / confirmation ofactuals.
- Proactivelyidentifies potential risk events and issues before they occur sothat proper mitigating strategies can bedeveloped.
- Articulatesand prioritizes issues and risks at senior executive levels andrecommends mitigation strategies for decisionmakers.
- Establishesand participates in steering committee and stakeholderforums
- Providesproject program and / or portfolio reporting to multistakeholders atsenior executivelevels.
- Usesappropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to changeand capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages ofprojects concept definition planning implementation andcloseout.
- PromotesOPS I&IT standards and best practices for projectmanagement to facilitate control of system quality adherence tostandard methodology and the control of the use of I&ITresources.
