Job Summary
Responsible for managing and enabling the sourcing to contract process, as well as associated activities for the purpose of acquiring a pool of preferred, strategic third-party contract manufacturers of finished dosage forms and packaging.
The incumbent will lead sourcing events, including CMO / CPO due diligence, the RFP / RFQ process, conduct data gathering and analysis in partnership with other key internal stakeholders to understand the total cost of ownership (TCO).
Through this, the Sourcing Manager will deliver financial value and supply chain optimization to Apotex and our product supply network.
On behalf of Apotex, the individual will lead the product supply agreement negotiations for new CMO / CPO partnerships and work collaboratively with key internal SMEs to ensure all Apotex contractual needs are achieved.
Job Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the key stakeholders and internal teams to support the identification of current and new supplier (CMOs and CPOs) capabilities to meet Apotex’s needs.
- Will lead the execution of third party supplier due diligence (DD) process including ensuring the aspects of Quality, Technical, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance has been completed by the relevant functional teams up to and including the sourcing decision.
- The individual will own the sourcing DD process and review it on a regular basis to ensure it improves, evolves, and meets the needs of the business.
- Will be responsible for leading new commercial supply agreement / SOW creation, negotiation, escalations, and approvals acting as key contact for new contracts related to CMOs and CPOs.
- Be responsible for the overall CMO / CPO sourcing strategy, identifying and evolving best
- Play a key role in the evaluation and analysis of proposals / quotations for 3rd party sourcing working up to a solid financial business case for recommending the 3rd party to award the business for a given RFP.
- The incumbent will collaborate with Finance and relevant departments on the financial analysis and related sourcing decisions.
This role will support the creation of business cases related to business actions and decision-making. The role will be heavily relied on to ensure data accuracy and integrity as well as the insights and intelligence associated with the data.
- May be required to align with Business Development on in-license deals acting as the GSC representative. In addition, act in concert with BD as required to create and execute a product sourcing review, pricing benchmark, and should cost process that can be applied to all current and future suppliers to confirm Apotex is receiving competitive pricing and is in line with other projects or business currently in progress.
- Will collaborate with R&D, Business Development, Apotex Sites, and Supply Chain teams on strategic commercial sourcing and product launch initiatives globally.
- This role is responsible for being the subject matter expert in all relevant tools and systems leveraged to support the sourcing.
- Create and maintain a list of preferred vendors based on technology
- Will support the technology transfer and PLCM projects from a sourcing
- Will lead the development and refinement of 3rd party supplier contract templates and participate in the execution of said templates during the initial negotiation and eventual execution of 3rd party supply agreements.

Job Requirements
- Education Post-Secondary Degree in a related discipline, such as science, procurement, supply chain, or engineering.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Pharma industry, with supplier / sourcingStrong analytical abilities and attention to detail, with strong to advanced Excel capabilities, and financial analysis.
Excellent understanding and significant experience of ERP / SAP processes and master data related to supply chain management.
Strong organizational, time management, and project managementDemonstrated experience in coordinating project activities.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage relationships and communicate both orally and in writing, technical and non-technical information to all organization levels.
