Founded in 1918, CNIB is one of Canada’s oldest charities. For more than 60 years, CNIB Lake Joe has been providing exciting, safe, and accessible camp experiences for Canadians with sight loss. CNIB Lake Joe is looking for a Nursing Assistantto help us bring the magic of summer camp to life for ‘kids of all ages’ with sight loss, and their families!
Your Impact at CNIB
- Support the Camp Nurse in the execution of the healthcare plan and strategy.
- Provide complete first-aid services to all guests, volunteers and staff, and document all first-aid that is provided
- Under the guidance of the Camp Nurse, support guests with medication administration, as needed.
- Assist with documentation and filing of medical records and personal information in adherence to Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA) and other applicable privacy laws and policies.
- Maintain, keep record and ensure that all first-aid kits are stocked and in place around site, in vehicles and with staff.
- Ensure all dietary needs for guests are communicated to the kitchen two weeks in advance; coordinate all special diets with the kitchen team.
- On a rotational basis, be on call for emergencies, which includes being present on site and able to respond to emergencies.
- Promote health and safety practices which include sun and heat safety measures, including that there are water / hydration stations for guests and staff throughout the day.
