WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsible for enhancing and protecting the public image of Hyundai Auto Canada Corp, internally and externally, by implementing strategic and proactive communication programs engaging with the Canadian business media.

Formulate and execute tactics and programs amongst key influencers and opinion leaders to guide regulations and policies.

Represent the Company appropriately and positively within a variety of channels and promote complementary initiatives with the objective of increasing the positive visibility of the Hyundai and Genesis brands and products.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manage corporate PR outreach functions and projects through a dedicated team of direct reports and agency resources.
  • Devise and execute new corporate public relations plans showcasing Hyundai Auto Canada Corp, its executives, and employees.
  • Crisis management communications lead in partnership with Legal.
  • Develop a modern and progressive external and internal communications strategy for Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. reflecting new communications channels, trends and measurement methodologies.

Manage the team and workflow with the objective of proactively generating stories that solicit coverage about the company, executive team, and employees.

  • Develop a corporate communications calendar with clear objectives. Implement management of resources to deliver required tactics and workflow in a timely manner including speech writing, interview preparation and notes, question and answer sheets and press releases.
  • Lead regular development of newsletters / communications for employees and dealer network.
  • Develop relationships and interact with corporate and business media contacts and opinion leaders regarding the company to ensure positive inclusion or exclusivity in appropriate feature articles and broadcast pieces.
  • Determine prioritization of contacts and measurability criteria for key contacts and channels.
  • Represent the brand as chief spokesperson for crisis situations. Develop key messaging in partnership with Legal and circulate company-wide for alignment.
  • Advise, coach and direct company spokespeople, maximizing message opportunities.
  • Work in partnership with Brand and Product PR team on budget and resource utilization, circulation of coverage, and content for the Company's media website.
  • Represent the Company on specific industry PR committees as required.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in the same or similar positions.
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Exemplary oral and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and global media and trends.
  • Knowledge of Public Relations best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills / logistics.
  • Enthusiasm for and knowledge of the automotive sector.
  • Knowledge of and experienced in crisis communications management and
