Job Description

Our education sector client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join their team! This exciting role will be working on The Integrated Students Services Model (ISSM) program focuses on creating cohesive systems and service structures that streamline processes for staff and better serve students.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Independently work with project partners on the implementation of the program
  • Building strong relationships with project partners and subject matter experts to foster buy-in and effective participation, and being the key point of contact for project related inquiries.
  • Implementing change management strategies to support project partners navigate change.
  • Fostering cooperation, collaboration, and communication to create consensus and accomplish objectives with project partners.
  • Maintaining a systems thinking approach considering broader impacts and institutional objectives in mind.
  • Preparing, supporting and equipping project partners to adopt changes to systems, technology and business processes.
  • Assessing the impacts of changes or new business processes and working with project partners on mitigation strategies.
  • Eliciting, gathering, verifying, validating and prioritizing business requirements with project partners, using future state processes.
  • Trace and validate requirements with appropriate project partners to ensure accuracy of documentation, obtaining necessary sign-off from business owners.
  • Document and update current state business processes and Standard Operating Procedures (manual and system) for administration, departments and faculties.
  • Documenting business problems and identifying business process improvements that will enhance capacity and economies of scale.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline, automate and scale existing operations / services / systems to enable greater efficiency and effectiveness across project partners
  • Evaluate and promote organizational efficiencies through review of workload assessment, standardizing processes and recommending enhancements.
  • Formulate change strategies and develop innovative solutions to support change management activities.
  • Work closely with the project manager to integrate change management activities into project plans.
  • Build out future state processes and standard operating procedures for administration, departments and faculties.
  • Work closely with other business analysts, system analysts and developers for prototyping, translating business processes and requirements to business rules and workflow.
  • Act as the liaison between business and technology staff, providing the business perspective in the analysis and design of future state solutions
  • Ensure process related issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensure user acceptance for future state solutions, project partners readiness and relevant approvals are confirmed, prior to go-live.
  • Provide post implementation support to project partners.
  • Develop required systems and technology knowledge related to the ISSM to effectively inform and work with project partners.
  • Develop workshop and training materials, and facilitate the delivery of workshops and trainings (both in-person and virtually) using lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, and seminars

Qualifications and Skills

  • Considerable experience working in a post-secondary or public sector environment
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Experience with developing and implementing organizational change management strategies
  • Experience driving or participating in large change and transformation efforts, business optimization initiatives, assessments and reviews
  • Extensive analysis and solution assessment experience related to complex enterprise solution implementations
  • Experience developing training resources and facilitating training on systems and technology
  • Experience implementing and / or managing solutions that support customer service
  • Experience working with multiple business, technical and vendor teams
  • Experience with process modeling, analysis and service design tools.
  • Change Management certification
  • Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred.

Technical knowledge for implementing enterprise management solutions is preferred.
