About the role

We’re looking for a Values oriented, purpose-driven specialist to accelerate IFC’s social impact agenda across our Canadian operations.

Supporting our objective of building resilient communities, the Senior Advisor, Social Impact (Bilingual) will work with key internal and external stakeholders to lead execution of Intact’s social impact strategic partnerships in Canada, including lighthouse partnerships such as the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation at the University of Waterloo.
This role will also support social impact and granting operations, including working collaboratively with partners on impact evaluation and leading internal data management processes.
They will work with peers across our Canadian operations to identify and integrate employees from across the business and relevant Intact stakeholders into partnership execution.
The Senior / Advisor will also support reputation initiatives, including communications strategies and annual social impact reporting.
Please note : This position is a bilingual position; the successful candidate must be fluent in French and English.
What you’ll do here :
Lead the activation of societal partnership action plans for our lighthouse investments (e.g. the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation), including determining shared deliverables and exploring innovative ways to help society
Lead partnership operations, including cultivating new partnerships that align to Intact’s social impact objectives, including leading due-diligence measures and support decision making processes
Lead the use of Intact’s expertise, resources and scale to help societal partners achieve their mission
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Intact’s Climate team and the Centre for Climate and Geospatial Analytics to accelerate the implementation of Intact's Building Resilient Communities strategy
Support the day-to-day operations of Intact’s social impact programs including data and grants management through Benevity Grants and Benevity Spark
Develop and cultivate employee advocates of the social impact program across North America
Work with corporate communications to activate partnership outcomes to Intact’s stakeholders, including employees, brokers and customers
Support the development of the Canadian social impact performance scorecard, including the development of partnership KPIs, and support stakeholder reporting mechanisms such as our annual social impact report
Collaborate with peers to further research & develop relationship frameworks and integrate best practices to advance the charitable experience with Intact
Build and cultivate internal and external networks of stakeholders to support execution, learn and develop industry best practices
What you bring to the table :
Bilingual (French and English) Need to interact on a regular basis with an English and French-speaking stakeholders across the country is required
5+ years of direct social impact work in climate, corporate foundation / donations, not-for-profit grant making, and / or not-for-profit program development experience
Experience cultivating, building and managing innovative industry / not-for-profit partnerships with a notion of shared value
Experience or education in climate change adaptation, natural disaster resilience and / or severe weather preparedness
Working and / or volunteer experience with the non-profit / charitable industry, preferably in a stakeholder management role
Experience developing scorecards and social impact measurement frameworks a significant asset
Proven ability to mobilize stakeholders on key strategic issues
Excellent organization and time management skills with a strong ability to manage changing priorities
Adept at interacting with employees at all levels within the organization with proven ability to persuade and influence others without direct leadership
Project management experience necessary
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
