In this role, you will :
- Collect, develop and disseminate a range of content, products, tools and resources on services and operations. Such tools will be adapted by other teams and tailored to audiences.
- Lead the development of a strategy for collecting information needed to communicate the stories and impact of the Humanitarian Services team and their services and operations and then effectively communicate in a way that the impact is understood to both internal and external audiences.
- Support leadership, in particular, the Chief of Humanitarian Services, under the direction of the Senior Director, with communicating on our operations and services to its partners and enhance its reputation and visibility.
- Leads the development of communications pre and post events that articulate the outcomes and summarize the event for event participants, partners, funders and others as required.
- Develop a strategic and integrated Humanitarian Services change management and communications plan.
- Work closely with other internal teams that tailor Humanitarian Services content for their audiences such as Government Relations, Philanthropy and Communications.
- Coordinate with consultants and vendors, such as translator and designers, as required.
- Perform regular environmental scans of relevant news, trends, research and other developments related to Humanitarian Services nationally and internationally.
- Engages with knowledge experts within Humanitarian Services to help and assist them in developing and delivering creative perspectives, insights, tools and resources that are responsive to the evolving needs of CRC, Humanitarian Services and key stakeholders.
- In collaboration with Corporate Communications, contributes content for use on social media channels (Twitter and LinkedIn) and direct website updates.
- Develops a variety of products including blog posts, newsletters, digital print, video, audio and print.
What we are looking for :
The incumbent may come from diverse backgrounds including operational experience in program development, design or implementation, communications, marketing, or public relations;
or government relations or philanthropy.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience, including working with senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
- Bilingual English and French proficiency are required.
- Experience in the non-governmental organizational sector and / or emergency management industry an asset.
- Ability to synthesize and translate complex information and experience for different audiences in a variety of formats, including verbally, in writing, and online.
- A passion for and ability to generate and transform ideas, stories and key messages into inspiring and compelling knowledge products and communications activities.
- Excellent ability to engage diverse stakeholders, negotiate priorities and objectives, and align varying viewpoints and create a unified approach.
- Proficient with social media (Twitter and LinkedIn) and familiarity with internet culture.
- Experience working with web designers, graphic designer and translators.
- Experience with graphic design and multimedia applications (podcast, video, etc.) a strong asset.
- Ability to adapt various applications to build knowledge mobilization products and resources.
- Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office software applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Teams.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with resilience and adaptability to changing circumstances in an evolving environment.
Working conditions :
- Periodic national and / or international travel will be required.
- Opportunities for a hybrid model of work between home and office may be available.
- Work may include long to moderate hours sitting and using computers and office equipment.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice may be required.
