Summary
Reporting to the Process Quality Supervisor and the Shift Manager, the Process Operator is responsible for operating equipment in the main formed processing line and performing upstream grading functions to meet operational goals and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating the line flow through processing functions including, but not limited to : peeling, blanching, ingredient addition, drying, frying, freezing, budget pounds, recovery, oil usage, retail percent, and energy conservation.
- Using process control to maintain uniformity, color, texture, solids, product temperatures, defect loading, weights, and freezing.
- Ensuring necessary level of communication is maintained with team members and support groups regarding line conditions.
- Ensuring the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
- Reporting food safety and safety hazards to proper personnel and follows up to ensure corrections.
- Keeping work areas clean and completes all sanitation tasks assigned, including during shut-down clean-ups and start-up sanitation.

- Must have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication division and percent’s) to make proper adjustments and calibrations as required.
- Must be able to work with analytical testing equipment, such as pH meters, scales, Agtron, graduated cylinders, etc.
- Strong time management skills and self-motivated.
- Excellent multi-tasking, prioritizing, and attention to detail skills.
- Great communication skills, with the ability to make sound judgement calls on the fly.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills related to dealing with all levels of staff in the organization and externally
- Ability to work flexible hours.
