Summary
This role is responsible to understand electrical systems and equipment. This individual in this role must be capable of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the system.
This electrician will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the electrical systems and all related equipment and systems along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.
It is imperative this person conduct themselves in a manner that ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of equipment and its surroundings.
Work relationships and communications are key ingredients to the success of the individual holding this role. They must be able to maintain open communications and productive work relationships with team leaders, operators, laborers, mechanics, other electricians, supervisors, and shift managers.
The area of work includes both inside the facility and outside, depending on work requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains electrical systems and control systems on equipment.
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment, electrical networks, control panels and other control system components.
- Interfaces with supervisory personnel about equipment conditions and difficulties in the electrical system.
- Maintains, repairs, and installs plant lighting.
- Utilizes electrical / electronic prints / schematics, ladder logic, plant computer systems, the current National Electrical Codes, and test equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Takes electrical line calls on shift and performs and completed all jobs as assigned.
- Enters and performs work on work orders; plans and schedules additional work as needed.
- Understand the purpose of Preventative Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance and participates in these Programs.
- Maintains work area in a clean and functional condition.
- Must be able to locate parts and reference part numbers.
- Must be able to accurately enter data into computer and into daily paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position.

5+ years related experience and / or training
