The Mortgage Retention Specialist will be responsible for proactively retaining existing clients through mortgage renewals, sales opportunities, referrals and refinances.
The Mortgage Retention Specialist is required to meet both the bank and individual retention and refinance objectives in order to grow the business.
The incumbent will deal directly with the consumer managing all components of the renewal and application process, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
This includes completion of the application and submission for review, supporting documentation collection, appraisal ordering, and monitor progress of deals through third party partners.

Responsibilities
Promptly action opportunities by contacting customers to understand their needs and ensure the
appropriate solutions / options are matched to the identified needs.
Achieve key performance indicators based on productivity, sales volume, and quality. Develops,
implements, and monitors performance plans for effectiveness and adjusts accordingly to ensure
desired outcomes.
- Ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Maintains required contact management and activity management records as required by the
company.
- Responsible for executing all conditions of approval on behalf of the company with the borrower
- Meet or exceed individual mortgage retention and sales objectives
- Accurately prepare various documents; letters, memos, reports and data processing files based
on various sources within a very tight deadline.
- Accurately calculates, updates and enters data, opens, closes and files and follows up
- Responds to client mortgage inquiries and resolves problems / refers escalations.
- Carries out any other similar or general task as assigned or that may be required by this function
Qualifications
College / University diploma / degree and minimum 2 years of Sales experience within the mortgage
services environment.
- Bilingual* (French / English) verbal and written communication skills are an asset.
- Demonstrated effective sales skills in order to build rapport with clients and advisors.
- Strong telephone manner; must be articulate, professional, polite and have demonstrated listening
skills.
Sense of urgency and time management skills to ensure client files are efficiently managed from
inception to successful conclusion
- Ability to work independently and as a team player concurrently. Strong ability to multi-task, selfmotivated and highly disciplined and sales focused.
- Knowledge of mortgage underwriting policies and procedures
- Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
