Job Description

As our Team Leader, Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate an organizational culture that embrace best practices and continuous improvement within our Project Delivery department.

You will play a key role in identifying solutions to operational challenges and ensuring their effective implementation.

You will leverage your coaching abilities and influential management skills to initiate and lead change within the Project Delivery organization.

As the go-to person, you will actively engage employees in resolving business issues and serve as a reference point for their involvement.

Additionally, you will facilitate workshops covering diverse technical and human-related topics, fostering collaboration to achieve successful solutions.

You will also assume a leadership role in guiding a team of coaching leaders. Responsibilities encompass implementing coaching strategies to foster the growth and development of coaches within coaching cohorts.

To achieve success, it is essential for you to have a people-oriented approach and swiftly earn their trust to effectively lead the coaching team towards meeting project requirements.

As a key contributor, you will play a vital role in enabling key components (people, systems, processes) to our corporate objectives.

Your role and responsibilities will be the following :

  • Conduct follow-up meetings, with coaches, project directors and departmental leads.
  • Collaborate with departments to assess the performance level of business and project processes, identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Lead operational excellence improvement projects, including defining mandates, analyzing operational performance data, and organizing / facilitating workshops.
  • Organize and conduct periodic steering committee meetings.
  • Provide support for the utilization of action follow-up tools such as UTrakk, One Note, EV tracker, etc.
  • Possess broad knowledge of tools, metrics, and KPIs used in projects (e.g., earned value, MDR list, EV tracker, risk management, etc.)
  • Support new development projects by implementing effective working methods, such as Agile Scrum or other methodologies.
  • Maintain a high level of motivation within the coaching team.
  • Implement the coaching plan in new projects.
  • Coordinate with the Human Resource department to update training programs throughout the year.
  • Stay up to date with new coaching methods, training techniques, project excellence strategies, etc.
  • Conduct training sessions on various subjects as required and provide training for new coaches.
  • Recruit new coaches from within Enerkem to ensure a strong coaching team.
  • Plan training needs and budget.
  • Responsible for deploying and supporting the Agile Scrum Method in projects.
  • Act as a Scrum Master and provide support to the Agile Scrum team (players, product owner, etc.)
  • Plan the evolution of the action tracking tool if necessary and assist coaches and players in action management.
  • May lead mandates with external consultants.

Qualifications

  • Collegial Diploma in engineering, design practices, project management or equivalent.
  • Very good knowledge of information technology applications.
  • More than 10 years of experience working in an engineering project environment is an asset.
  • More than 10 years of experience in coaching employees
  • Software knowledge related to coaching is an asset.
  • Proficiency with agile and continuous improvement practices : Agile SCRUM, Lean Six Sigma, etc.
