As part of their growing team, the new Financial SR&ED Tax Manager will join a passionate group committed to empowering clients through the delivery and design of innovative financial strategies and the planning journey for a shared vision of a cleaner, more sustainable future.
To be successful in the role we are focusing the recruiting process on candidates who are experienced CPAs with expertise in SR&ED ITCs, clean technology tax credits, and corporate tax filings across Canada.
Key responsibilities include :
- Client Eligibility Assessment : Analyze client projects to determine SR&ED eligibility by reviewing R&D activities, project costs, and expenditures.
- Tax Strategy & Financial Planning : Develop and implement strategies to maximize SR&ED claims, identifying eligible expenses in close collaboration with technical teams.
- T2 & SR&ED Filings : Prepare and submit T2 corporate tax returns and SR&ED claims.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with internal client engineering and R&D teams to translate technical activities into eligible financial claims with accurate cost documentation.
- Team participation : As part of a small team, you will contribute to the growth of the company as well as overall client deliverables and company networking events.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or related field advanced degree (Master's in Taxation, MBA, etc.).
- CPA designation is essential.
- Ongoing education in SR&ED, ITCs, or clean-tech incentives is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 4 - 6 years of hands-on experience with SR&ED tax credits, including preparing, filing, and optimizing claims within a reputable accounting firm based in Canada.
- Familiarity with Investment Tax Credits (ITCs) related to clean technology and carbon capture is a plus.
- A team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to help us in meeting client needs willing to go above core duties
- Strong problem solver able to look for innovative solutions while respecting CRA rules
- Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment
Compensation :
Competitive salary that is in the mid to top range of the market for similar candidates. Employees earn a generous bonus ranging from 20-50% of their salary in good years.
There is also a new employee benefit package in the works.
