Our Calgary Plastics Plant is looking for a Payroll & HR Coordinator!
The Payroll and HR Coordinator reports to the Regional Controller, Calgary Plastic Division. Processes the hourly payroll for Calgary Plastics.
Responsible for maintaining account balancing records for payroll and benefit related GL accounts. Looks after documentation for new employees and terminations.
Responsible for monthly, quarterly and yearly reports (including T4's). Inputs benefit plans enrollment with Manulife and acts as back-up for completion of enrollment paperwork with employees.
Accountable to carry out all tasks in a healthy and safe manner.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Processes weekly payroll for all hourly paid employees.
- Verifies reports, transmits payroll to ADP; produces payroll journal entry.
- Processes all employee terminations ensuring completion of final pay and vacation pay entitlements are met.
- Issues Record of Employment (ROE). Also ensures that employee benefits are terminated as per company policy
- Prepare various monthly reports
- Maintains employee pension files including submission of enrolment, change and termination forms to the carrier.
- Month reconciliations payroll & benefit accounts
- Hourly employee recruitment and on-boarding
- Coordinate safety and other training
- Other duties as required.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regular use of computers, telephones and misc. office equipment.
- Must be able to manage complex tasks.
- Read and understand the Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Understand and follow the food, safety, and quality procedures
- Read, understand and follow the Quality System Procedures (QSP)
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Post secondary education preferred
CPA member an asset
3 plus years of related experience.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Must be able to meet target dates, prioritize and practice excellent time management skills.
- Attention to detail.
