R.W. Tomlinson Limited is currently looking to procure an IT Support Technician. This position will be part of the Service Desk group and will support the organizations users and devices.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures regarding desktop support and troubleshooting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Resolving technical support issues at site and from our office.
- Maintaining an in depth technical knowledge on our company’s applications and services.
- Analyzing, documenting, and escalating critical issues to appropriate support groups.
- Maintaining technical expertise and knowledge regarding upgrades and new hardware and software brought into the company.
- Reviewing calls through our support system.
- Monitoring and ensuring timely escalation of customer issues to internal organizations or vendors. Collaborate with other IT departments on assigned projects and issues.
- Diagnose and repair hardware problems, set up, configure, and test equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and install upgrades and options.
- Install Operating system and configure PC’s according to company standards for deployment as required.
- Laptop / Desktop / Phone / Tablet device issuance and support.
- Support of various line of business specific equipment.
- Work on new technology roll outs and training of users on various systems.
- Documenting issues to the ticketing system and knowledge base.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primarily standard office environment with some support of field office and plant operations.
- Fully working in the office.
- May be required to work weekends or evenings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Requires 3 years of related experience.
- Excellent communication skills and organizational skills
- May hold Industry Certifications such as A+ , MCP, MCSE, MCITP EA / SA, CCNA / CCNP, VCP, ITIL.
- Experience with switches including routing configuration an asset.
- Graduation from a recognized post-secondary program an asset.
- Able to troubleshoot various technical issues.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows 10-11.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office M365 applications.
- An understanding of enterprise mobile support and mobile device OS and applications.
- Understanding of network configuration and protocols.
- Knowledge of automated software deployment methods and SCCM.
- Strong PC Hardware knowledge and skills.
- Ability to travel locally.
- Flexible, self-starter / works on own initiative in a fast paced environment.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to engage in multiple concurrent complex projects.
