Pacific Academy is inviting applications from qualified individuals for a temporary, full-time Outdoor Education Coordinator position in the Middle School.
This position is to cover a maternity leave from September 2024 to June 2025. Qualifications : Successful candidates should : Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education Actively and personally support a Pentecostal / Charismatic statement of faith Be fluent in oral and written English Hold suitable certifications related to outdoor education / recreation or be willing to complete coursework (Wilderness First Aid, Class 2 Bus license, towing) Be experienced in some or all of the following areas of instruction : canoeing (flat), hiking, cross country skiing, kayaking, climbing, snowshoeing, ropes course, backcountry travel Have a willingness to attend and guide all Summit trips, including day trips and multi day backpacking trips (3-4 times per year) Be able to collaborate with school wide staff and community organizations in providing experiential learning opportunities in the outdoors Have an understanding of risk mitigation and be willing to complete further training Support the development of the Outdoor Education program Value caring for natural surroundings and the greater ecological world, promoting advocacy and stewardship Potential candidates must download and submit a completed Teacher Application Package , along with a cover letter and resume to careers@mypacificacademy.
