Course Description : This course offers a history of capitalism. In twelve weeks, we study nearly six hundred years of human history, examining how the profit motive has reshaped lives, landscapes, and values.

We consider how the drive to accumulate capital has given rise to distinctive legal, racial, and religious regimes. (24L / 12T)

Class Schedule : Wednesdays, 3-5

Hours of Work : Wednesdays, 5-7

Sessional Dates of Appointment : January 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025

Salary : $52.26 per hour

Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Qualifications : Demonstrated effectiveness as a teaching assistant, academic qualifications in the subject, ability to introduce students to a diverse range of approaches, and suitability for the position.

Description of Duties : Duties may include the teaching of small tutorial sections, marking of assignments, holding scheduled office hours and invigilation of exams;

other duties as determined by the supervisor.
