Job Summary
Reporting to the Financial Reporting Policy & Taxation Consultant, the Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in driving financial insights, optimizing processes, and supporting strategic decision-making for the Finance Governance & Tax department.
The Senior Business Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance professionals, Information Technology (IT) specialists, and the Finance Governance & Tax team to ensure alignment between business objectives and technological solutions and provide support for the systems, tools, and processes used by the department.
What you will do :
Manage the coordination of multiple new and existing projects and automation initiatives at different levels of development.
Support and contribute to the evolution of workflow design and automation to continuously improve efficiency while ensuring sound and robust system / process controls are in place to reduce operational risk.
Build and maintain strong relationships within our department and other finance teams, IT, and other stakeholders and facilitate communication amongst all groups to ensure collaboration and a common understanding across all priorities.
Collaborate with IT teams to understand technological capabilities and constraints.
Work with our department to develop a clear vision of the problem needing to be resolved and prepare the relevant material(s) to be shared with IT for solutioning.
Develop business cases, project plans, and monitor progress against key milestones, and identify and resolve issues and / or risks as they arise.
Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that project deliverables meet established standards and requirements.
Collaborate with our department and other stakeholders, as required, to gather and document business requirements and work with IT to translate business requirements into technical specifications for system enhancements and / or implementations.
Work with IT to plan and coordinate the deployment and validation of changes to production systems and tools used by the team.
Develop test plans and lead / facilitate the user-acceptance testing process for the team’s system / process improvements.
Develop clear and concise documentation of training material, including process description, workflow, and system functionality.
Utilize data to create meaningful reports and dashboards for management decision-making.
Collaborate with the Operational Risk Management Finance team and process owners within our department to determine key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop the necessary reports to track our progress and results.
Lead or contribute to finance-related projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
Ensure compliance with internal policies.
What you bring :
5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst working in a Finance environment.
Strong analytical capabilities to assess and solve complex business problems, identify trends, and provide data-driven insights.
Experience with full life cycle of software development (agile and waterfall approaches); including requirements, design, development, testing, rollout, implementation, and training.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for conveying complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in gathering, documenting, and managing requirements from various stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage complex processes that cut across Divisional business units in a diplomatic and professional manner.
Ability to interact with various levels of the organization confidently and effectively and to build strong working relationships in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Prior experience in leading and executing testing.
Ability to negotiate and facilitate consensus among diverse stakeholders with conflicting interests.
Skill in managing and facilitating change within an organization, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new processes and / or technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft SharePoint, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and relevant business analysis tools, project management software.
Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision.
A degree in Finance, Business or Accounting is an asset.
