About the role
We are seeking a Vice President, Investor Relations to join our executive team. Reporting to the Deputy Senior Vice President & Head of Financial Performance, the Vice President Investment Relations will play a strategic role in fostering and strengthening Intact's relations with the investment community and drive robust shareholder value.
This role will involve crafting the investor relations strategy as well as communicate clearly and effectively our strategy and financial performance.
The successful candidate will lead our award-winning Investor Relations program, collaborate with our top-tier senior leadership team and be the ambassador of IFC’s story, corporate objectives, strategic roadmap and financials with leading investment professionals.
This position could be based either in Toronto at 700 University Ave. or in Montreal at 2020, Robert-Bourassa
What you'll do here :
Inspire and lead a team to achieve our investor relations objectives through the development and execution of communications strategies, tactics and cohesive narratives.
Lead the preparation of the company's quarterly earnings press release and Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A).
Host the quarterly conference calls with analysts and ensure the executive team is well prepared by leading the drafting of prepared remarks and Q&A documents.
Manage the response to shareholder / analyst requests for various types of information, ensuring timely and accurate disclosure.
Monitor analyst expectations and provide regular updates on earnings consensus to senior leadership.
Oversee the development of content for investor meetings and investor presentations, communicating IFC’s corporate objectives and strategic roadmap.
Develop and implement strategic plans to identify, contact, and arrange meetings for the CEO, CFO, and other senior leaders with both existing and potential shareholders.
Establish and maintain strong strategic relationships with analysts, shareholders, prospective investors, and the financial community.
Provide strategic insight to the leadership team and prepare key messages and communication for special corporate transactions.
Review and analyze external research reports and peers’ disclosure as well as monitor industry changes or trends in order to share strategic insights with management.
Monitor transactions on the company's shares and analyze significant movements, informing the C-suite in a timely manner.
Actively participate in the preparation of the annual report and the social impact report with various internal stakeholders.
What you bring to the table :
Minimum 10 years of relevant strategic experience working within capital markets, e.g. equity research, institutional equity sales, corporate development, investor relations, corporate finance, etc.
Graduate degree in economics, business, or other quantitative field.
Strong preference for candidates with an MBA and / or professional designation, e.g. CA / CPA or CFA.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial transactions and strategies.
Advanced financial and investment analysis skills, with a comprehensive understanding of financial modeling used to value an organization’s overall effectiveness and performance.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a high degree of diplomacy and professionalism, while bringing a positive attitude and fun to the table.
Deep understanding of capital markets dynamics.
Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
Intellectual curiosity and the ability to research and retain large amounts of information about the company’s strategies, financials, and operating environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Proven senior-level experience in investor relations, with a strong emphasis on strategic planning and execution.
Ability to function as an industry expert, leveraging industry knowledge to develop new investor relations programs and initiatives that strategically promote the Company's leadership in the industry.
For candidates located in Quebec,bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
