Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager Commercial Strategy and Performance, the Senior Analyst Market Performance and Business Intelligence supports our efforts to enable centralized and consistent performance management reporting, analysis and intelligence gathering across the entire Corby organization.

Comfortable in working with large data sets and through the use of robust data sources and analytical techniques this position will provide valuable and actionable insights on Corby’s relative commercial performance through the appropriate lens.

This role is highly collaborative and coordinated with the various commercial divisions (Market-Customer and Execution), as well as Marketing and the broader Corby Executive.

This role would be best suited to an individual who is curious by nature, possesses a bias for analysis and action and is a strong communicator.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Maintain a broad appreciation and understanding of the economic outlook and performance trends for the Canadian economy, nationally and by region.

Leverage knowledge into potential impact (risks and opportunities) on the Canadian Alcohol Beverage industry

  • Develop a strong understanding and derive insights into Corby’s (and competitors) national and regional business performance trends for Spirits, Wine and RTDs
  • Develop and maintain commercial performance reporting and presentations, including but not limited to, the Monthly Performance Overview, Townhalls, Top-to-Top and Board of Director Meetings
  • Collaborate with the Market-Customer commercial teams to leverage regional insights to strengthen national performance intelligence
  • Partner with the other key stakeholders across the business to provide analytics, insights and recommended actions associated with market, category or brand deep-dives
  • Define the reports / solutions and data inputs required for capturing and sharing market intelligence in an actionable and engaged way that is aligned with the company’s strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with the Insights Manager to develop insights that can be used cross-functionally for consumer and commercial activations
  • Act as a key resource to elevate understanding and usage of market intelligence tools across the commercial organization
  • Proactively undertake analysis to capture key business, category, segment, and customer opportunities on a national, regional and / or channel level
  • Act as the organization’s subject matter expert for the business intelligence system (Power Bi) and provide guidance to IT team on reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Power Bi would be an asset in the role
  • Identify new analytical techniques to uncover material and actionable insights that support the evolving demands of the business
  • Advise meaningful ways to categorize and capture data to inform action while ensuring data integrity
  • Work with IT to integrate data changes into the business intelligence system
  • Custodian and oversight of data governance for market intelligence data sources from ACD. Ensuring the integrity and reliability of the data remains high.

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in analysis and strategic insights
  • Strong experience with data storytelling
  • Strong technical knowledge in MS suite particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous working experience with Power BI
  • Proven strategic thinking skills - ability to understand market performance, translate insights into opportunities, and develop clear recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to influence
  • Consumer Packaged Goods experience an asset
  • Financial Analyst experience an asset
  • AC Nielsen experience an asset
  • High attention to detail
  • Team player with high energy and demonstrated initiative
  • An understanding of the Wine and spirits industry an asset
