Dozer Operator

Location : Ottawa and surrounding area

• Duties and responsibilities;
• Safely operate dozer and other heavy equipment to perform tasks such as grading, earth moving, excavating, backfilling, and final grade preparation, maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
• Ensure job sites are prepped before projects begin, including clearing, grubbing, sloping, and leveling, following project specifications and blueprints to meet company and client requirements.
• Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on dozer and associated equipment to ensure safe operation, including checking fluids, cleaning, and making minor adjustments or reporting larger repairs to the maintenance team.
• Adhere to workplace safety policies and regulations, participate in safety meetings, and contribute to a safe working environment by identifying hazards associated with task execution.
• Collaborate with project managers and other construction team members to ensure project timelines, scope, and resource allocations are adhered to, maintaining open lines of communication regarding site progress and potential issues.

Requirements :

• Proven experience operating a dozer and other heavy machinery in a construction or similar environment.
• Knowledge of safety standards in heavy equipment operations.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
