Summary

This individual is responsible for planning and coordinating the Raw Product or Packaging activities on a shift in coordination with Shift Manager direction to maximize operational efficiencies and to ensure the safety of all employees.

In the raw area, this job plans and recommends changes in raw product blends on shift to ensure that the best possible utilization of the raw to meet or exceed customer expectations.

In the packaging area, this job coordinates the activities in the packaging area on shift to produce finished products at target specifications in a food safe environment.

They will advise the Shift Manager of current conditions and support the Shift Managers accountability in their areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates the raw or packaging activities with Shift Management and other support personnel.
• Supervises the raw or packaging area employees by directing the activities of the team to provide the best support during each shift.
• Is responsible for supporting, managing, or implementing People Safety, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Product Quality standards.
• Assists in the training of employees in the raw or packaging area in the proper methods of equipment operation, record keeping, interdepartmental communication and all other necessary operational procedures.
• In the raw area, ensures that the area is following specifications and monitoring raw coming into the plant for attributes and properly communicating to team.

This includes unloading, sizing / elimination, bin designation, line designation and execution of the raw plan in conjunction with raw procurement.

In the packaging area, ensures that the area is operating as efficient as possible at all times in conjunction with changes in the process throughout each shift.

This includes the development and implementation of process / productivity improvements and managing all tote / rework activities to minimize the overall impact to plant operations.

Leads, attends, and participates in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

3+ years related experience and / or training
