EPFC is looking for an Intermediate Estimator to join our Project Services team. The Intermediate Estimator will support the development of estimates for new project opportunities from proposal through to award, including reading and understanding contract documents, specifications and drawings for projects being tendered.
Pricing of work and material take-offs, pricing on materials, equipment, and sub-trades. This person will also support preparation of tender forms and finalizing and closing of tenders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the build up of multidiscipline estimates that may include Engineering, Fabrication, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction and Commissioning and Start-Up depending on project requirements.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Estimating of work and material, take-offs, pricing on materials, equipment, and sub trades.
- Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop cost loading for project schedule.
- Support the preparation of project cost reports for presentation to internal and external stakeholders, including working with clients through any clarification.
- Identify opportunities including strategies to create a competitive advantage.
- Prepare and present project cost reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and improve procedures, databases, early phase cost models, templates and tools for cost estimating.
- Perform cost risk assessment and probabilistic simulations to establish project contingency and project reserve.
- Stay abreast of trends and developments, such as new equipment, methods and procedures that are developing in the industry.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a Technical / Trades diploma.
- 2- 5 years of experience in an estimating role.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office. Expert level knowledge of MS Excel, including ability to write advanced formulas and use pivot tables to perform calculations.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in Power Bi and Power Query.
- Ability to perform quality assurance.
- Knowledge of cost estimating, CIQS and AACE guidelines and best practices, engineering design, construction practices and procurement for major projects.
- Knowledge of estimating methodologies.
- Knowledge of project schedules and resource / cost loading.
- Knowledge of construction practices and constraints on large projects.
- Knowledge of estimating disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical and industry costing software a benefit.
- Preference will be given to those candidates who have prior oil and gas manufacturing and construction experience.
