We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.
Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Labourer - TIA with a competitive hourly rate of $33.17. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies with consideration to internal equity.
We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.
Purpose of the Role
Under the direction of the TIA Construction Superintendent, the TIA Labourer will be accountable for aiding and assisting in enabling activities for tailings dam construction.
Duties include site-logistics support (pick up and transport of materials, escorting contractor vehicles), delivery of materials to work fronts, delivery and setup of light plants, operation of skid-steer for snow removal.
General clean up and labourer duties are also included in this role.
Accountabilities
- Reference Newcrest Competency Framework (second page of this template).
- Aiding TIA Construction and Cyclone Sand Dam personnel as directed by supervisor
- Escorting contractor vehicles from the gate to the TIA
- Pick up and transport of materials on site
- Transportation and set-up of light plansts to illuminate work areas
- Office, storage, and laydown area maintenance and cleanup
- Other general duties as required

About You
Position requirements include, but are not limited to :
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and experience
- Bobcat / skidsteer experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license essential
- Experience in an industrial setting and / or operating industrial equipment considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
- Physically fit with the ability / capability to lift fifty pounds (50lbs);
- Self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrating initiative to do more than is expected or required in the position;
- Ability to work in all-weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights.
