About the work environment :

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home.

Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8 : 00am and 4 : 30pm with flexibility around start / end times.

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About you :

You are an seasoned commercial banking professional and proven team leader. You thrive in fast-paced settings and excel in guiding underwriting teams.

Your expertise in navigating CMHC guidelines is complemented by your ability to analyze and underwrite CMHC insured, conventional, and commercial real estate loans.

About the qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial banking, working on variety of CMHC Insured loans.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team in a professional setting.
  • Advanced Excel and Data Modelling skills, Excellent MS office skills required
  • Knowledge of CMHC policies and corporate lending policies.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate markets in Canada.
  • Expert in financial statements and real estate analysis.
  • Experience in Ncino or Sharepoint is considered an asset.
  • Experience in ERP implementation in any business function is considered an asset.

About the day-to-day :

  • Manage a team that evaluates and recommends conventional and CMHC mortgage loans, nationally throughout Canada, in accordance with procedures and policy guidelines.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the underwriting process and be actively involved in improving & rectifying situations
  • Contribute to the comprehensive administration of the portfolio, encompassing ongoing loan management and accountability
  • Coordinate the flow of deals from start to end, assist the team leader in process development, automation and develop reports to monitor efficiency.
  • Liaise and collaborate with all the relevant stakeholders that related to the Commercial Lending business, including the Administration, Funding, Treasury and Accounting Teams.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring the team into experts in credit analysis and risk assessment.

Compensation :

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $100,000 and $110,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess.
