As the Mechanic you will perform a normal range of work related to assembling, disassembling equipment from complex machinery systems and perform tasks such as installation, adjustments, balancing, testing while carefully documenting each step of the way.
Work you can expect to perform :
- Perform inspection of parts in conformity with assembly drawings.
- Read and follow blueprints and specifications concerning the equipment, and, when required, refer to proper technical manuals for performing his duties.
- Select or determine the most efficient methods for assembling and disassembling equipment.
- Prepare parts prior to the assembly, perform tasks such as cleaning, deburring and visual inspection.
- Ensure efficient performance of all assembling steps and verify that finished products meet pre-determined quality standards.
- Safely use mechanical, hydraulic and manual tools as well as hoisting and cleaning equipment.
- Perform work of acceptable quality requirements in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Maintain working area in neat and orderly condition adhering to 5S standards.
- Complete time and production reports.
- Operate overhead crane and forklift equipment after proper training and certifications.
- Daily LN maintenance Closing orders, issuing material as needed, outbound logistics, cycle count or other inventory requirements as needed.
- Adhere to Valmet Inc. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) goals and directives. Including use of prescribed safety rules, proper use of PPE, and regulations.
- Knowledge of ISO standard processes, current inspection processes, best practices and related measuring equipment.
- Very good knowledge of parts refurbishing procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need :
To be successful in this role, you are willing and can learn a wide variety of technical products, ERP systems, and specialty applications.
A vocational diploma (DEP) with a specialization in industrial mechanic or a collegial diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering and technology, with ideally a minimum of two years of direct pertinent experience acquired in and industrial repair facility.
Bilingual (French and English for oral and written communications). You should be assertive, tech savvy, and not afraid to ask questions.
Prior experience is preferred. ASP Construction card and forklift certification / license would be considered an asset. A valid driver’s license and passport.
