We are seeking a dynamic administrative professional to join the Office of the City Clerk and make a difference! The Legislative Clerk provides clerical, records management and administrative support services to the functions of the Office of the City Clerk, in a fast-paced office environment.
In this role you will provide direct assistance to members of the public, support Council meetings and public hearings, assist with financial and budget activities, and perform a diverse range of other responsibilities in support of the core functions of the Office of the City Clerk.

The successful candidate will have relevant office administrative experience and have strong attention to detail, customer service and communication skills. Duties - Union
- Provides information to the public regarding various general inquires.
- Prepares and processes account receivable and payable transactions.
- Creates, inputs, updates and maintains various paper and electronic records.
- Responds to records management problems researches and recommends solutions and improvements, and trains staff on best practices.
- Liaises with the Records Storage Contractor to manage retrievals and entry of files into archive.
- Monitors all records through their entire life cycle based on established retention schedule, including handling of confidential information and destruction of documents.
- Enters development bylaws and maintains City of Kelowna Bylaw records and systems.
- Coordinates delivery of notices to the public as required under the legislation.
- Prepares correspondence submission of summaries for Public Hearings / Meetings.
- Collects tenders and records packages received in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Provides other administrative and clerical support, including backup to other departmental clerks.

Posting Text Physical Demands Lifting and moving file boxes (maximum 25lbs each) for records management on a regular basis.
