Job Description :
Our client, an investment fund requires a VP, Sales and Marketing to join their team. The Vice President, Sales and Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sale and marketing strategy to drive the distribution of the Funds primarily to IIROC investment advisors.
Initially, the target market is expected to be concentrated in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Southwestern Ontario. This role will involve leadership, strategic planning, team management, and client relationship management.
Responsibilities : Strategic Planning :
Strategic Planning :
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to achieve growth targets.
- Identify and evaluate market trends and competitive opportunities.
- Establish short and long-term sales and marketing goals.
Business Development :
- Identify and build relationships with investment advisors, financial institutions, and other potential distribution partners.
- Oversee the creation and execution of sales presentations, pitches, and proposals.
- Represent X at client events and give presentations at industry events.
Marketing Strategy :
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns to raise brand awareness and generate leads.
- Active engagement through personal phone calls, in-person meetings and electronic contact.
- Utilize digital marketing, content marketing, and traditional advertising channels to reach the target audience.
- Analyze marketing data and adjust strategies as needed.
Sales Management :
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, reporting on key metrics and KPIs.
- Develop and manage the sales pipeline, ensuring a consistent and scalable process.
- Implement effective sales techniques and best practices.
Client Relationship Management :
- Build and maintain relationships with IIROC investment advisors.
- Understand their needs and provide exceptional client service.
- Collaborate with clients to address any concerns or questions.
Compliance and Reporting :
- Ensure all sales and marketing activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards and company policies.
- Work closely with the compliance team to mitigate risk.
- Provide regular reports for senior management.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales and marketing, with a focus on financial products or investment funds.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of Salesforce a plus.
- Ability to travel within the GTA and Southwestern Ontario and occasionally beyond may be required.
