What You’ll Do :

  • Act as a resource to employees for HR-related inquiries, fostering effective communication and engagement.
  • Assist our client’s HR Manager in implementing programs to enrich the employee experience and cultivate a positive workplace.
  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Support performance management activities, including reviews and improvement programs.
  • Track time-off requests, monitor absences, and arrange assistance as needed.
  • Oversee scheduling for meetings, performance reviews, and annual projects.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding and offboarding and participate as a Health & Safety Committee member.
  • Organize yearly HR events, such as Flu Vaccinations and Staff Appreciation Week.
  • Contribute to budgeting processes through data management and projections.
  • Offer guidance on employee relations and HR concerns to managers and staff.
  • Coordinate and plan professional development sessions for legal staff.
  • Serve as back-up for payroll processing.
  • Assist the Legal Talent Manager with the hiring, onboarding, and dismissal of law students.
  • Manage student application paperwork and correspondence with the Law Society of BC.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for law students and help organize call ceremonies.
  • Assist Associates with the evaluation and compensation procedure.

What You Need :

  • Degree, certificate, or diploma in Human Resources.
  • 2+ years of HR experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems, MS Office applications, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused approach.
  • Proven organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
