What We Are Looking For :
This exciting opportunity is strongly suited for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. This position will work closely with their principals to meet our clients’ needs.
The successful candidate will work for two Partners in our Litigation group.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in the preparation and completion of various commercial litigation documentation including disputes related to construction and real property disputes, motion records, pleadings (Superior Court & Court of Appeal), notices, affidavits, affidavits of documents, court orders, and mediation briefs
- Prepare and complete all necessary correspondence and documentation
- Handle administrative details with respect to accounting, opening and closing files, docketing, and billing, etc.
- Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients
- Extremely organized and meticulous with follow-up and detail and in dealing with matters containing voluminous documents and urgent turn around
- Produce the highest quality of work

Requirements :
- Minimum of five years’ litigation legal experience
- Successful completion of a post-secondary level legal assistant or law clerk course
- Previous experience with Caselines, Kofax, and Adobe
- Proficiency with linking cases & evidence into motion & application records
- Familiarity with the Commercial List Court and construction lien matters under the Construction Act is an asset
- The ability to be flexible to the changing demands of the job
