Summit Search Group are working alongside one of our top clients, a leading Canadian-owned and operated glass manufacturer, who is seeking a dynamic leader to join their Calgary-based team.

As the Operations Manager, you will lead the Calgary operations. You’ll be responsible for driving productivity, optimizing processes, and ensuring seamless cross-department collaboration to maintain exceptional customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Oversee Daily Operations :

  • Ensure efficient, high-quality, and compliant day-to-day operations, implementing standardized processes and training programs.
  • Monitor, audit, and ensure 100% compliance with operational standards (safety, quality, throughput).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance manufacturing processes and performance.
  • Use operational data to conduct performance analysis, identify areas for improvement, and drive actionable solutions.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and a safety-first culture.

2. Enhance Communication and Documentation :

  • Facilitate effective communication between departments for timely issue resolution.
  • Produce operational reports and maintain documentation to support trend analysis.
  • Assist in developing and improving operational policies and procedures.

3. Optimize Resource Management :

  • Oversee personnel, equipment, and material resources to meet operational goals.
  • Propose resource optimization strategies and collaborate with leadership to implement them.

4. Drive Process Improvement :

  • Lead teams to meet performance targets and operational success.
  • Standardize process enhancements and address operational bottlenecks.

5. Support Team Development and Culture :

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in overseeing operational activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in operational tools and MS Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to adapt under pressure.
