Responsibilities
The primary functions associated with this position include, but are not limited to :
Collects, analyzes, monitors, evaluates, and interprets data and information from transportation asset management systems, databases, programs and projects
Conducts research on asset management and / or road safety related topics including developments in the field, corporate policies and practices, legislation and initiatives from other levels of government.
Develops, maintains, modifies, geospatial and relational databases.
Conducts geospatial analysis.
Develops and maintains ArcGIS Dashboards
Intakes, tracks, and responds to requests for programs as required including correspondence with public, elected officials, contractors, etc.
Uses work management systems to track, create, and monitor service requests and work orders.
Leads, coordinates and assists in studies and investigations conducted by staff and consultants.
Prepares briefing notes, abstracts, report summaries and presentation materials using a range of analytical techniques such as spatial, statistical, economic, technical and historical data.
Develops, consolidates and integrates new and existing computer models and applications to store and retrieve data related to Divisional projects and activities.
Assists in preparation and administration of call documents and consultant assignments.
Assists in the development and maintenance of processes and documentation.
Key Qualifications :
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to :
Post-secondary education in Civil Technology, Municipal Infrastructure, Transportation, Planning or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Considerable experience in research, data collection, analysis, interpretation of data including preparation of concise summaries, and reports
Considerable experience using GIS (Graphic Information System) software such as ArcGIS,QGIS or equivalent software to develop and maintain geodatabases, for spatial analysis and modelling.
Experience in managing requests to track, monitor, and maintain assets through the use of tracking systems and databases.
You must also have :
Ability to prepare reports and presentations.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and policies related to the position, such as Asset Management Planning for Municipal Infrastructure, Minimum Maintenance Standards, the City of Toronto Act and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Knowledge and understanding of Project Management principles.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills in combination with ability to perform duties under minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational skills, including ability to take initiative, work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work cooperatively and professionally with the general public and City staff at all levels.
Must have the ability to travel between locations throughout the City of Toronto
Knowledge of road operations levels of service for winter and summer operations.
Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and policies related to the position, such as minimum maintenance standards, the City of Toronto Act and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Ability to conduct research and compile data summaries related to Transportation Services using related databases such as TMMS / EWMS.
Knowledge and understanding of Project Management principles.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills in combination with ability to perform duties under minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational skills, including ability to take initiative, work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
