Director of Engineering – Series A – AI firm

Company Background

TekRek has partnered with a well-funded Series A firm based in Vancouver that has designed an AI enabled workflow automation platform. This company was founded 5 years ago and was doing AI before it was cool. They’re now scaling up their engineering function to meet growing product demand.

Job Description :

As the Director of Engineering

Define and execute the company’s engineering roadmap in alignment with business goals
Collaborate with product management to shape product vision and translate requirements into actionable engineering tasks
Build, mentor, and manage a growing engineering team, focusing on high-performance culture and employee development

Job Requirements :

10+ years experience with 3-5+ years experience in senior leadership positions

Prior work experience in high-growth startup environments, especially experience helping a company go from Series A to Series B and beyond

Prior experience working in a B2B SaaS, with exposure to AI / ML-powered products

Experience hiring, developing and leading engineering teams of 8+ engineers

Deep knowledge of modern software development practices, architecture and infrastructure
