Job Title : Sr Network Administrator
Location : Toronto, Onsite : 2 days per week @ the office (one day must be Wednesday)
Employment Type : 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
As a Senior Network Administrator, you will be part of a team of seven dedicated network professionals, working closely to manage and maintain a secure, high-performance network environment.
This role involves handling support tickets, processing change requests, and engaging in network design and implementation projects.
This is a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension and includes occasional on-call duties, with on-call compensation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Network Administration : Manage, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco switches (IOS and 9K models), BIG-IP F5 load balancers, and Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama.
- Ticket and Change Management : Respond to and resolve tickets, troubleshoot issues, and execute change requests as part of daily operations.
- Design and Implementation : Collaborate on network design and implementation projects, delivering scalable and secure network solutions aligned with Moneris’s objectives.
- Monitoring and Optimization : Perform proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization of network resources.
- ITSM (IT Service Management) : Utilize ITSM principles to enhance incident and change management processes, ensuring SLAs are met.
- Documentation : Maintain thorough documentation of configurations, procedures, and network architecture changes.
- On-Call Support : Participate in an on-call rotation approximately once a month, with compensation provided for on-call duty.
Qualifications :
Experience : 5+ years in network administration, with a focus on enterprise environments.
Technical Skills :
- Load Balancers : Strong hands-on experience with BIG-IP F5 load balancers, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Firewalls : Extensive experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama, including firewall rule management, policy creation, and troubleshooting.
- Cisco Networking : Deep knowledge of Cisco switches, including experience with IOS and 9K series models.
- ITSM Knowledge : Familiarity with IT Service Management practices and tools, including incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Problem-Solving : Proven troubleshooting abilities with a focus on root cause analysis and quick resolution.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
Additional Details
On-Call Requirements : One week per month, with additional compensation
