Senior Network Administrator (Palo Alto / Panorama)

Akkodis is partnered with a leading FinTech who specialize in payment processing to recruit a Senior Network Administrator to join their infrastructure network services team here in Toronto.

In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing, administering, and maintaining the company's network services. This will include overseeing network devices, associated software, local and wide area network connections, communication links, and firewalls / network security, to ensure robust, scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure in both on-prem and cloud environments.

What you'll do :

  • Provide support, in an automated way, when possible, to all Network services offerings.
  • Lead platform currency, capacity planning, and the reporting of defined Service level agreements
  • Participate in projects, design, implementation, installation, and configuration of Network Infrastructure systems.
  • Accountable for identified service ownership offerings. Including the ownership of the service support queue and operational documentation.
  • Responsible for the escalations occurring in daily operations, including business-as-usual service and change requests, incident investigation, remediation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of network services, local and wide area network connections, and Datacenter.
  • Rotational on-call is required to support 24 / 7 important and production systems.
  • In partnership with Infrastructure and Development teams, leads / participates in building the supporting networks for core in-house develop gateways, transaction, and payment processing systems.

Key skills and experience :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Firewall administration, design, and management.
  • Experience with Palo Alto and Panorama is a must.
  • Experience with Cisco switches and firewalls
  • Experience with F5 Load Balancer
  • Proficient in network designs, administration, implementation, monitoring, support, and automation.
  • Prior experience setting up and configuring devices, as well as maintaining and providing day-to-day administration and support.
  • Enterprise experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves :

  • Proficient in leading projects or project steps and communicating progress / approach with technical / non-technical peers / clients and leaders.
  • Proficiency in payment systems and the merchant acquiring business would be an asset.
