Position Overview
The Analyst will play a critical role in asset management and the underwriting of new investments. Reporting directly to Ownership, this role requires delivering highly accurate, polished work while applying a sophisticated understanding of real estate finance.
The Analyst will manage cash flow models and support a range of capital sources, including investor constituents, lenders, equity investors, historic tax credits, and other specialized funding sources.
Key Responsibilities
Acquisition & Development
- Serve as the lead underwriter for new investments, primarily focused on acquiring and redeveloping historic properties into multifamily assets.
- Own cash flow Excel models for various real estate investments, particularly multifamily properties that incorporate tax credits.
- Conduct market analyses to assess comparable properties, rents, and economic trends.
- Manage data sources, including Rent Comps, Apartments.com, market research, and relevant news updates.
Asset Management
- Financially manage multiple projects at various stages, under the supervision of Ownership.
- Support an experienced institutional management team by providing insightful financial analysis and reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience : 5-10 years of relevant experience in real estate with a reputable firm.
- Technical Skills : Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for investment modeling.
- Financial Acumen : Deep understanding of financial concepts, including Present Value, Real Estate Debt and Equity, and US Tax considerations.
- Real Estate Tax Management : Ability to manage real estate tax projections using assessor websites and navigate municipal resources.
- Research & Data Management : Skilled in handling big data and conducting research using resources like Apartments.com, HUD websites, and affordable housing and historic tax credits databases.
