ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
They are looking to expand their accounting team with a designated Senior Accountant to focus on bringing their outsourced task.
Typical duties will consist of full cycle accounting focusing specifically on Trust related duties, payroll management, month end reporting / analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for supervising accounting employees and ensuring the completion of all internal and external financial reporting for the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Preparation and analysis of monthly income statements and balance sheets for multiple entities
- Preparation of Monthly, quarterly and year-end working papers
- Payroll Management for staff and contract employees across the Ontario region
- Prepare, review, and improve internal processes and procedures
- Prepare account reconciliations and month-end
- Oversee accounts receivable and credit management
- Oversee accounts payable data entry and troubleshoot issues
- Manage cheque, ACH, and wire transfer preparation
- Prepare provincial and state tax filings
REQUIREMENTS
- CPA designation is required
- 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced office environment
- Superior Microsoft Office skills with advanced experience using MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with Powerbroker and / or any other insurance-specific software is considered a huge asset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in parallel, and a high volume of transactions
- Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic work environment
COMPENSATION
- $85,000-$110,000
