Sensity has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Coordinator to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Housing Development Director, this position is responsible for the maintenance of Sensity-owned and rented buildings, vehicles, equipment and property in accordance with all applicable legislation.
The position provides preventative maintenance services, interacting with suppliers and contractors as needed to ensure all buildings and equipment are kept in good working order, providing a safe working and living environment for employees and individuals supported.
The position also coordinates the buildings' general housekeeping and janitorial services provided by a third party

Key Accountabilities :
- Schedules and performs preventative maintenance, reviews / inspections of the Resource Centre, apartment complex common areas and within the individual apartments.
- Coordinates with suppliers / contractors as necessary in accordance with internal procurement policies.
- Manage relationship of third party cleaning company.
- Ensures scheduling of ongoing maintenance and inspection of mechanical systems and ensures accurate record keeping (e.
g. HVAC, generator, sprinkler system, etc.).
- Assesses repairs needed, suggests improvements, and priority to the maintenance work schedules as needed.
- Obtains detailed quotes for major repairs as per procurement policies for review by the designated Manager / Director for final approval.
Maintains vehicle maintenance logs and arranges basic quarterly maintenance activities, such as oil changes, per vehicle requirements for a fleet of 14 company-owned vehicles.
- Schedules regular annual inspections and testing as required by legislation, (such as, but not limited to lifting equipment, generators, HVAC, etc.).
- Acts as the first point of contact for the alarm / security monitoring system for both the Resource Centre and the apartment complex.
- Acts as an employee member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC).
- Perform general maintenance, conduct mechanical inspections, manage waste removal
- Ensure all work conducted by external contractors and trades meets the highest standards.
- Ensure adherence of seasonal maintenance contractor schedules and support the timely removal of snow and ice, as required.

- Provide support for internal facility needs such as office moves, furniture changes and purchasing needs.
- Provide multiple site support by flexing hours to support a 24 / 7 model.
Position requirements :
- Post-secondary courses in building management / maintenance, or equivalent experience of Two (2) to Three (3) years.
- Experience trouble-shooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other general repairs.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Certification or knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Ontario Fire Code, etc.
- Comfortable using MS Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently and follow specific instructions.
- Adaptable and flexible with an ability to respond to changing work priorities, high volume requests, pressures and demands .
- Deal professionally and tactfully with clients / staff / contractors.
Working Environment and Demands :
- The position is performed both in office and residential apartment settings.
- Occasional requirement for simultaneous multiple urgent demands, regular interruptions.
- Exposure to dust, noise, odours, possible hazardous substances or equipment.
- 40 hours / week, Monday to Friday, with occasional requirement to work outside of regular business hours.
- Regular travel within Brantford / Brant County city limits, with the occasional need to travel outside of city limits.
- Sustained requirement for manual dexterity / coordination for use of hand tools and cleaning equipment, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
