Our client seeks a contract PMIS Project Manager / Implementation Lead to lead the implementation of a Corporate Project Management Information System (PMIS) on a major capital project.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) implementation consultant and the capital project team to implement the Trimble e-Builder PMIS while assisting the PMO team on the overall Corporate PMIS implementation strategy.
Project Duration : August 2024 - July 2025, with potential renewal for two additional one-year periods upon mutual agreement and budget approval.
Work will primarily be performed on-site at the client’s head office in Vancouver, BC, with a hybrid remote work option available. Responsibilities :
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
- Establish guiding principles, effective project governance, and a full-scale project management and communications plan.
- Identify priority modules for system implementation and develop acceptance criteria and processes.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Define the process for reviewing, signing off, and testing business requirements.
- Estimate and identify the resources required to achieve project goals.
- Develop a change management and user engagement strategy, including a training plan.
- Provide progress updates to the PMO and Project Steering Committee through presentations, reports, and memos.
- Ensure proper financial and risk management of the project.
- Manage the performance of the implementation consultant and the relationship between the project team and the consultant.
- Identify opportunities to standardize business requirements and processes across departments.
- Develop key project deliverables, including the project charter, implementation plan, change management and communications plan, acceptance criteria, business requirements document, work breakdown structure, and project logs.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of project management experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proven experience in planning, implementing, and supporting a PMIS or other ERP system in the capital infrastructure, utilities, or government domain.
- Strong documentation, analysis, and assessment skills related to business processes and systems.
- Thorough knowledge of information technology components, processes, and developments.
- Experience in change management and stakeholder engagement in a large multidisciplinary organization.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, vendor management, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Trimble e-Builder or other PMIS is an asset.
- PMP designation is an asset.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) designations are an asset.
