Our aviation client is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead large technical project across a variety of airport systems, and applications.

Permanent, Richmond, Hybrid (2-3 days a week), may be open to contractors

Must Have

  • 10+ years experience in Project Management
  • Previous airport experience on a technical project including a Digital Apron Control System, Baggage systems, Network, Access Control etc.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates project following appropriate project management methodology including gathering and defining project requirements, developing project charter, project plan, budget and schedule, identifying staffing requirements, and forming project team
  • Follows project management methods, procedures, and quality objectives, and tracks metrics for assessing progress
  • Balances workload, provides technical and analytical guidance and work direction to project team, including scheduling, assignment of work, review of project efforts and removal of roadblocks which may inhibit project success
  • Ensures that all team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively, and provides the team with constructive feedback as it pertains to project performance
  • Assesses variances from the project plan, budget and schedule, develops and implements changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives, and keeps management aware of the situation
  • Facilitates required meetings to ensure decisions are made and documented in a timely manner
  • Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner
  • Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project steering committee, vendors, business area clients and IT
  • Works with the Manager, Organizational Change to ensure that appropriate change management, documentation and end user training strategies are developed and implemented
  • Completes business analysis tasks, as required, including documenting and implementing new processes
  • Conduct formal review with Steering Committee at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction
