We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our client's team in the automotive industry.
Location : Waterloo, ON
Pay : $80K - $90K / year
Key Responsibilities :
Design, develop, and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for manufacturing automation.
Troubleshoot and optimize robotic, electrical, and control systems to improve efficiency.
Work with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, or other industry-standard controls .
Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, and production staff to optimize automation processes.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies .
Support new equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning .
Develop and maintain technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and schematics .
Qualifications & Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in controls engineering within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and robotics integration .
Strong knowledge of industrial networks, sensors, actuators, and motion control systems .
Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems , including HMIs, VFDs, and servo motors.
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical for control panel design is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
