Engineering and Controls Estimator
Our client specializes in large-scale electrical, automation, and controls projects. They are currently looking for an experienced Engineering and Controls Estimator to join their team in Pickering.
This role will play a pivotal role in taking technical projects from inception to completion. From site visit to solution development, to building the proposal, to contract negotiations, the successful candidate will be handling the full sales cycle of projects.
Role and Responsibilities :
- Attend sales meetings and discovery meetings through site walks with potential and existing customers.
- Take your learnings from your site visit and develop solutions and systems for customers and prospects.
- Create estimates based on RFP packages, site meetings, and customers specs, including design, procurement, and implementation.
- Build professional and competitive proposals for customers and potential customers.
- Work with internal teams to help sell solutions for customers and potential customers.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all electrical designs and implementations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Facilitating customer conversations regularly.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- A valid P. Eng licence in Ontario is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCad Electrical and Accubid.
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Electrical Code.
- 7+ years in a similar field / role.
- Sales experience is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present technical information effectively.
- Field engineering and on-site service experience.
- Strong experience in working with Omron and Rockwell PLC’s, Mitsubishi, and Siemens an asset.
- Ability to travel across Canada and to the United States as required.
