POSITION : District Itinerant Music Teacher - temporary
ASSIGNMENT : Elementary Music (K-7)
FTE : 1.0
LOCATION : District Administration Office
EFFECTIVE DATES : Commencing September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025
Basic Qualifications : The successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch AND possesses one or more of the following :
Training Specifications : Elementary Education with major / minor in music
Related Teaching Experience : Recent successful experience as an Elementary Music Teacher
A Reasonable Expectation : based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff
Additional Qualifications :
- Training / skill in the Kodaly method and / or the Orff approach to music instruction
- Strong singing skills
Other : Own transportation for travel between schools is necessary - mileage reimbursed as per the CA
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
