As a Key Account Manager specializing in engineering services, your primary responsibility will be to grow and expend our relationship with Canadian and global port authorities, port operators and related industries.
You will serve as the main point of contact, ensuring their unique engineering needs are met and our services align with their project goals.
This role is based in Vancouver and requires travel and frequent interaction with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Account Management : Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and engineering teams.
- Client Needs Assessment : Conduct regular needs assessments to identify opportunities for our engineering services to add value to projects.
- Solution Presentation : Collaborate with our engineering and sales teams to create customized solutions that address the industry specific engineering challenges and requirements.
- Contract Negotiation : Lead contract negotiations and ensure mutually beneficial agreements are reached, adhering to company guidelines and pricing strategies.
- Customer Satisfaction : Monitor and assess customer satisfaction regularly, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
Strive for continuous improvement in customer experience.
- Revenue Growth : Develop and execute account plans to achieve revenue growth targets within the Port account. Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities for engineering services.
- Market Intelligence : Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes that may impact Port engineering projects, providing valuable insights.
- Reporting and Analytics : Maintain accurate and up-to-date account records, including sales forecasts, activity reports, and performance metrics.
Present regular reports to management.
- Team Collaboration : Collaborate closely with internal teams, including engineering, marketing, and customer support, to ensure the successful delivery of engineering services.
- Compliance : Ensure all business activities, including contracts, follow company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
Our essentials
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in key account management, with a focus on selling engineering services.
- Strong understanding of Port engineering needs, business operations, and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Results-oriented with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients.
