What You Get to Do :
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable / receivable, and payroll.
- Manage the general ledger, including performing journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, and ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Perform financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
- Maintain and improve financial systems and processes, ensuring robust internal controls.
- Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts working closely with other departments to understand their needs.
- Responsible for monitoring production costs, analyzing variances and identifying potential efficiencies.
About You :
- Holds a professional designation (CPA / CGA / CMA) or is currently enrolled in the CPA program
- Knowlegde reporting in US GAAP
- Experience in the manufacturing, distribution, or construction industry preferred
- Preferably has prior experience with costing and inventory management
- Eager to take on a hands-on operational accounting role, energized to assist the accounting department wherever needed, including tasks like reconciliations.
- Is proficient in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
- Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset
