The Senior Procurement Specialist will support our Surrey Langley Stations project and will sit out of the site office in Surrey, BC .

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement strategy, initiation, and execution
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of core procurement processes
  • Embeds lessons learned and industry best practices into core processes
  • Ensures procurement is delivered in accordance with Project Execution Plans
  • Provides procurement subject matter expertise to project / program
  • Resolves project / program procurement team performance issues
  • Improves project execution capability by staying current with industry trends and new innovations / technologies
  • Interface with the Functional leaders of Project Controls
  • Has a good understanding of different type of Contracts.
  • Understands and Demonstrates contract writing skills.
  • Manages tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Can work under demanding timelines.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven success driving a top-tier major project procurement philosophy within an organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or related discipline
  • CSCMP designation or international equivalent highly desirable
  • Minimum of 10-15 years on heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • Experience in construction, experience with rail, stations, commercial or institutional projects is preferred
  • Experience with and understanding of implementation complexities within a large, diverse operating structure
  • Experience with working in a matrixed environment and engaging / obtaining buy-in
  • Knowledge in current and emerging industry and market trends, company services, customers and partners, competitiors, and stakeholders
