Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic

LOCATION : Calgary, AB

WORK ENVIRONMENT : In-Shop

TYPE : Full-Time (Monday-Friday)

EQUIPMENT SERVICED : Hydrovacs, vac trucks, refuse equipment, street sweepers

Infrastructure maintenance equipment

SIGNING BONUS :

  • Licensed - Heavy Equipment Technician $2,500.00
  • Apprentice - Heavy Equipment Technician $1,000.00
  • All other licensed mechanics $1,800.00

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience as a licensed mechanic or 3+ years’ working experience
  • Valid Driver’s License with Clean Abstract
  • Experienced with hydraulic and / or electrical work

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by Joe Johnson Equipment
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Communicate with Lead Hand and / or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  • Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools

  • Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Company or by the regulations.
