Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic
LOCATION : Calgary, AB
WORK ENVIRONMENT : In-Shop
TYPE : Full-Time (Monday-Friday)
EQUIPMENT SERVICED : Hydrovacs, vac trucks, refuse equipment, street sweepers
Infrastructure maintenance equipment
SIGNING BONUS :
- Licensed - Heavy Equipment Technician $2,500.00
- Apprentice - Heavy Equipment Technician $1,000.00
- All other licensed mechanics $1,800.00
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :
- Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician preferred
- 2+ years’ experience as a licensed mechanic or 3+ years’ working experience
- Valid Driver’s License with Clean Abstract
- Experienced with hydraulic and / or electrical work
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by Joe Johnson Equipment
- Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
- Communicate with Lead Hand and / or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
- Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools
